International setting

Vanessa Sukhumvit School has an international kindergarten setting, with the working language of English. The curriculum is based on American, early childhood studies, in an environment that is play based, holistic and inclusive. In our kindergarten, we believe that education should be taught through real life experience. Therefore, we strongly adopt an approach of real life experience and education not to be taught through screens.

Sensory Activities

With sensory play, there’s always much more going on than meets the eye.

Sensory activities, in addition to being fun and interesting for babies and young children, encourage children to explore and investigate. Furthermore, these activities support children to use the ‘scientific method’ of observing, forming a hypothesis, experimenting and making conclusions.
Sensory activities also allow children to refine their thresholds for different sensory information, helping their brain to create stronger connections to sensory information and learn which are useful and which can be filtered out.
For example, a child may find it difficult to play with other children when there is too much going on in their environment with conflicting noises or sights.
Through sensory play, the child can learn to block out the noise which is not important and focus on the play which is occurring with their peer.

Physical Education

Mr. Tim leads physical education classes teaching various sports and activities to our students. Mr. Tim demonstrates many skills including coordination, core-strength, sportsmanship, balance and teamwork. Children will develop these important skills through participation in activities including swimming, football, basketball, and indoor climbing. Vanessa School’s brand new facilities, including a gymnasium, swimming pool, large grass pitch and trampoline, set the scene for lots of fun and fitness for your child.

Math Melody

Our math program has been designed to enable the students at Vanessa school to be able to use creativity and imagination to solve problems and find solutions.
Creative math’s important skills including: counting, identifying patterns, geometry, reading, rhythm, hand eye coordination, listening skills, teamwork, and creativity all through interactive math lesson. The classrooms are equipped with many musical, props, blocks and percussion instruments to help teach these important concepts.
Our mission is to equip the kids with the necessary tools that they will use for the rest of their lives, by increasing their confidence by knowing each kids level and giving them one on one attention.

Phonics

Phonics is a comprehensive program, based on the proven, fun and multi-sensory synthetic phonics method that gets children reading and writing from an early age. This means that we teach letter sounds as opposed to the alphabet. These 42 letter sounds are phonic building blocks that children, with the right tools, use to decode the English language. When reading a word, they recognize the letters and blend the respective sounds; when writing a word they identify the sounds and write down the corresponding letters. These skills are called blending and segmenting.
